Mightycause utilizes WePay for payment processing on personal cause fundraisers. WePay makes it very easy for organizers to accept funds and donations for their fundraisers!
What are the fees?
The payment processing fee from WePay is 2.9% +$0.30 per donation. The processing fee will be automatically deducted from your disbursement.
How do I setup my WePay account and link it to Mightycause?
You can begin setting up your WePay account by heading over to your fundraising page and on the left-hand side dashboard and selecting “Bank Setup.”
You can choose to create your own account or invite a recipient (beneficiary).
If you plan on inviting a recipient, enter their information and select "Invite Recipient." This will email them instructions to link their account with Mightycause.
If you plan on linking it to your own account, select "Link Account." You will be prompted to either login or setup an account:
After you have done that, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your email address:
You aren't finished yet! Once you have created the WePay account and linked it to Mightycause, you will have to login into WePay, add banking information, and complete the setup process. You'll need to complete the setup of your WePay account within 30 days after you've received your first contribution. If funds are not withdrawn within 30 days of the first donation, then no further contributions can be made. So, it is important for you or the beneficiary to confirm the WePay account and set up withdrawals as soon as possible.
When the setup process has been completed, you should receive a confirmation email.
How do I receive my donations from WePay?
If you have completed the setup process, withdrawing your available funds to your bank account will happen automatically! The first transaction might take longer than one to two business days to be processed and deposited to your bank account.
WePay allows you to set up your withdrawals on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Once the payout is initiated, US merchants depositing into a Chase bank account will have Same-Day access to their funds. If you aren’t a US merchant depositing to a Chase bank account, your bank should have your funds fully processed in 2-5 business days.
Can WePay be used internationally?
You must have a valid US bank account and address in order to utilize WePay. However, you can accept payments from customers located anywhere in the world.
