If you have multiple contacts that you’d like to import into the Mightycause Contacts CRM, you can use the import function.
We have created an import template in case your donor information is not already arranged within a CSV file.
How to Use the Import Template
- Click 'Import' on the right side above the Contacts Table.
- A popup window will appear with a data template you can use for your import information. Select the template to download. If you do not wish to use the Mightycause template, you can use your own CSV file of donor information.
- A few things to note about the import template:
- Row 1 will show all of the possible data you can add for your contacts. Most of these are not required for import, but can be used to capture the array of data you may already have for your contacts.
- Row 3 will give additional context for each column. This includes if the field is required or optional and different data choices within the column. Delete this row when ready to import.
- Row 4 provides example data.
How to Import
- Once your contacts’ data is added to the Import Template, make sure the original rows 2-4 from the template have been deleted. You only want the template row 1 with your column headers and your contact data.
- Select 'Continue' in the bottom right corner of the Import pop-up window.
- Drag and drop or click the button to choose your file from your computer.
- Once you have added the file, you will see all of the data pulled into the import box.
- Make sure the header row is correctly chosen.
- Click “Next” in the bottom right corner.
- If you have used the exact import template, you will not need to map your data. However, if your header names are different from the import template, you can map the headers here. Then click “Next" in the bottom right corner.
- You can now submit your import.
- If there are any errors in your import, the row will be highlighted in light red. The cell to be corrected will be highlighted in dark red.
- Click on each cell to see the error and make any necessary updates.
- The rows will be white if there are no errors.
- Your import will now be processed - please do not close out of the window before it is complete.
- An "Import Completed!" notice will appear at the bottom of your screen once the import is complete. You will also receive an email notification. These let you know you can close your window.
Congratulations! Your import is complete!
